Benitez: Torres is worth over 70 million pounds!

The former coach of Liverpool, Rafa Benitez, believes Chelsea made a great deal taking Torres paying less than 60 million euros.
"Fernando Torres is worth over 70 million pounds (80 million euros), and Liverpool has made a poor business"  said Rafa Bentez on Friday.

The former technician at Anfield, said that the Spanish striker had never left to Chelsea for the sum of 58 million euros if the Londoners would have made an offer when he was working at Liverpool.

Benitez (50 years old) has coached Liverpool in 2004-2010, period during which the team shined in the Champions League, conquered  the FA Cup, but not the title, their best performance being second place in the 2008-2009 season .After Jose Mourinho's departure to Real Madrid, Rafa has accepted the challenge to coach Inter Milan, where he managed to stay only six months, being dismissed last December.

The Spaniard now says that he would accept to return sometime to Liverpool: "To coach this team is a dream for any self-respecting coach. For now, Kenny Dalglish makes a good job there, but if in future the club will need me I will respond positively." said Benitez.

Abidal will renew his contract with Barcelona!

Eric Abidal is one of Barcelona's players who are negotiating the contract extension that expires in the summer of 2012. French defender, aged 31 years, said there are two conditions he puts to the Catalan club: to sign the contract extension also the coach Pep Guardiola and to receive an agreement valid until 2015.

The technician is the one who asked the leadership to extend Abidal's contract, especially since the footballer said:
"I do not want more money, I want a deal until 2015. I am ready to listen to any offer that comes from Barcelona. Just after I played this team, I do not want to go to another one of a higher level, because it does not exist. We can talk about my contract, but I do not want to renew it for the simple fact of being renewed."

Abidal should sign the new contract Thursday, but the Frenchman does not hurry, considering that Guardiola needs to sign first :
"I think Pep will stay here until he reaches 70 years old and  he will go and be a coach of Spain. It's a great coach who knows the club well, people love it and it's tactically a  force, as demonstrated by his results. When people are amazed by Barcelona's game, they must know that it's especially Guardiola merit."
