Today is awarded the Golden Ball!

Golden Ball trophy is considered the most important individual prize that a professional football player can get.
The cup is given to the player who demonstrated the highest sport form and behavior in the last 12 months.
Beginnig with this edition, the trophy has more weight, combining  FIFA's award " World Player of the Year" tradition, given since 1991 with the prestige and antiquity of "Ballon D'Or",  awarded by France Football magazine since 1956.
The three nominated players are Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez, all of which are components of FC Barcelona. The club's triplet of stars won  the title in the Primera Division last season and won the Spanish Supercup. Iniesta and Xavi have also the title of world champions, with Spain's team at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.
