Negotiations between Liverpool and Chelsea for the Spanish striker continue, especially after "El Nino" expressed his desire to leave Anfield.
"My attachment to the club and fans is the same as the day I signed the contract with Liverpool."
The statement belongs to Fernando Torres and dated August 3, 2010, after the striker helped Spain team to become world champion. Meanwhile, Torres is no longer so sure of his future at Liverpool, being tempted to accept the offer from Chelsea, that would pay for the striker no more than 46 million euro, but rejected by Liverpool that does not want to give up on the 26 years old striker.
Liverpool officials have rejected a transfer request prezented by the striker :
"Torres is under contract with us. We expect him to honor it until the end."
Chelsea is not at its first attempt to take on Torres, Londoners intents being known since 2008, after the striker score the only goal in European Championship finals played against Germany. Chelsea have submitted a bid in May 2010, but also hit the categorical refusal of Liverpool. Spanish striker, world and European champion with Spain's team, arrived at Liverpool in 2007, after he was transferred from Atletico Madrid for 23 million euros. Torres has scored 65 times in 101 appearances in the Premier League.
