Pepe has extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2015. He will receive four million euros per year and thus he falls among the highest paid central defenders in the world.

Pepe arrived at the "Santiago Bernabeu " in 2007 and, despite the fact that over the years he has been the victim of injuries , and author of some acts of indiscipline, now he is the base-man in the team. Jose Mourinho sees him as one of the main pillars of Real Madrid, so the club officials have complied and have proposed him to extend the contract until 2015.

The defender accepted the offer without hesitation, considering the fact he will receive four million euros per season, the amount that ranks him six in the top of most highly paid central defenders at the moment. Pepe's old salary was 1.8 million.
