Defender Luis Moreno , from Deportivo Pereira received a warning for violating the law on animal protection when, in the match against Atletico Junior, he hit an owl that was fallen on the ground after being hit in advance by a ball. His gesture would't probably be so dramatized, if the "victim" was not the mascot of the hosts. However, Moreno was on the verge of being lynched by supporters of Atletico, after completing the game.
The bird was transported to a veterinary clinic, where it received help.
