Aston Villa hit the transfer market this winter by buying the striker Darren Bent, from the team ranked 6 on Premier League, Sunderland.
The striker cost Villa's owners 21.5 million euros, representing the most expensive transfer in Birmingham's history, passing over James Miller's transfer in 2008 from Newcastle United, worth 14 million euros.
The striker declared himself glad with the transfer: "Aston Villa is a big club. From the moment I found out they were interested in my services, I wanted to sign the contract. There are many valuable players at the team, and after a discussion with the manager, I am glad that I can take part in fulfilling club's goals."
Darren could start for his new team Saturday, in the duel against Manchester City in the 24th round of the Premier League.
