The defender Cristian Chivu of Inter Milan is the on list of acquisitions of Naples band that wants to strengthen the defensive department for a likely participation in the Champions League.
"Able to serve as a central defender or left defender, Chivu would be an ideal solution for the defense in five of Mazzarri. Grouping Inter would be willing to sell the Romanian in case of an offer, especially when they are planning a reworking of the lot next season.",wrote Corriere dello Sport. Italian press has recently written that Inter could give up on Chivu at the end of this season, for the low developments that he has had in recent games.
Also, the media noted that Naples wants Stefan Radu from Lazio, which evolves as left fullback position. Cristian Chivu's current contract expires in the summer of 2012. The Romanian has been transferred to Inter in the summer of 2007 from AS Roma. Naples is the third in Serie A with 65 points after 34 rounds of 38. The squad coached by Walter Mazzarri has five points ahead of the fourth ranked, Lazio, and will play in the Champions League if he finishes in the top three teams at the end of the season.
